Look back with pride and keep looking forward...

So, over this past week or so I have a had a few reminders of what was when it comes to DOTM. In our previous incarnation I had created the most unique and beautiful scared space and I was immensely proud of what I achieved. I would be lying if I said it didn't break my heart completely when we finally closed the doors but that is the cost-of-living crisis for you. Paying increasingly rising bills meant I could no longer sustain a physical space for DOTM.
I tried to convince myself that I was fine with the decision and move on. I was lucky enough to work in some beautiful spaces after, but they were never mine and it never quite felt the same therefore I just decided to put DOTM to bed altogether.
Do you know when something just never leaves you? Well, the thought of DOTM never did leave me and I kept thinking what if? What if I can carry this on in a unique way and reinvent what Dark of the Moon was to me and other people. What if I can provide services and content for free and at affordable prices so that this crisis doesn't beat us? And the hub was born.
However, I had a few reminders of the 2nd space I created this week and it made my heart sink a little and feel disappointed it’s no longer here. Until I realised that the space closing wasn't failure it was an experience and a building block for what's to come. Rather than bury it I can look back with pride and still talk about what was as it led me to what is and what's to come.
If you are ‘starting again’ you are not starting from scratch but from experience and it just suddenly clicks. This is an evolution not a new beginning.
Lots of love
Claire
